Best Tips

Some of the best tips that I have gotten for selling more books are from one of my favorite author resources called Copy Blogger. If you have not visited this site I would highly recommend it. There is so much that you can learn from the writers on that site. These book marketing tips were provided by C.J. Lyons. She is a self-published author that has sold over 1 million books. This particular article spoke on the importance of maximizing your life’s experience in order to bring greater depth to your writing. Another high value tip worth considering is learning how to creatively position yourself as a writer, and having an effective pricing strategy in place. You can read the article here.

Five other Very Valuable Low Cost Marketing Resources

Other good tips that can help you to sell more books are to begin to use low cost or no cost services to help with book promotions. This is a list of good places to begin:

1. Addicted to E-Books

2. Authors Marketing Club

3. Free Booksy

4. World Literary Café

5. Frugal Marketing

 Steps to Book Marketing Success

It is also a good idea to set a good foundation for your book to build upon. In my book Rock Star Marketing, I discuss seven key steps that will help you to build that foundation. My favorite 3 are listed below. The lessons that I have learned over the years have really helped me to grow a writing business, not just to sell a few books. Personally I feel that the connections that you make along your journey are far more valuable than any books you can sell – even if you sold 1 million books.

1. Understand the book selling process.

2. Design a book cover that will sell.

3. Understand how to build valuable connections.
