I read the book The Snowflake Method and found it quite delightful.  How could you not like a book that’s a spin off best selling stories that you’ve known as a child.  It’s an unusual way to teach a writing method.  I’m giving thumbs up to the book and encouraging authors to read it.  If you’re not willing to invest in another training book at least read the sample that you can download on Amazon.

As an overview Goldilocks wants to become a best selling author and she ends up at a writers conference taught by baby bear.  He reveals to her the best way to write a novel using a specific approach.  As the lessons advance she learns more and applies the teaching and then is introduced to an agent who in the book is the Big Bad Wolf from the Three Little Pigs story.  It’s a sound ten step process that creates a solid novel.

My favorite chapter in the book was how he taught about creating a villain. A good writer knows it’s not all about the evil guy.  It’s about the story behind the evil guy.  I loved the way he put it that even a villain wants to be a hero in their own mind.  I’d never thought of it that way and that concept alone was worth the cost of the book.  So check it out.

So, what do you think ?
